NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES IN FOREIGN ADDRESS

Introduction

A Hungarian citizen living outside of Hungary can register a new foreign address at the Consulate. 


Who can initiate this procedure?

Hungarian citizens who:

  1. have already been issued a Hungarian LIG ”address card”/ a document indicating their identification number and
  2. already have a registered address outside of Hungary in the Hungarian registry.

Documents to be submitted when applying

  1. The original Hungarian documents issued by the Hungarian authorities:
    1. LIG ”address card”/ a document indicating his/her identification number
    2. A valid Hungarian passport
    3. Electronically filled-out and printed application form (to be filled out in Hungarian in full, correctly, but not signed!)  

Applicants under the age of 18: 

  1. Electronically filled-out and printed application form (to be filled out in Hungarian in full, correctly, but not signed!)
  2. The original Hungarian documents issued by the Hungarian authorities: 
      1. Minor’s birth certificate
      2. Minor’s LIG ”address card”/ a document indicating his/her identification number
      3. Parents’ marriage certificate
      4. Valid Hungarian passports (of the minor and the Hungarian citizen parent
  3. The valid Israeli passport (of the non-Hungarian citizen parent) 

Application form(s) - available in Hungarian only 


Method of submission:

  • The application must be submitted in person after a prior appointment
  • No fast track procedure or emergency appointments are available
  • Appointments cannot be booked by phone or e-mail, only online
  • Applicants under the age of 18: the joint presence of both parents is required when applying – children do not need to be present
