Introduction
One can apply for his/her own certificate of good character (criminal record) that verifies the following facts of the applicant in Hungary:
- he/she has no criminal record
- he/she is not subject to a ban on public affairs
- he/she is not subject to a ban on a specfic employment
Who can initiate this procedure?
Any person, regardless of nationality or place of residence, can apply for a certificate of good conduct from Hungary, however only in relation to himself/herself.
Documents to be submitted when applying

Method of submission
- The application must be submitted in person, after a prior appointment
- No fast track procedure or emergency appointments are available
- Appointments cannot be booked by phone or e-mail, only online
